The Peninsula Community Foundation

Charitable Organization Needs Help with Growing Pains

The Peninsula Community Foundation was a significant chartable institution on the Peninsula and was in the forefront of the community foundation movement. Many hundreds of Peninsula organizations were positively affected by the work and donations of the Foundation.

The Problem:

Managers of the Peninsula Community Foundation had experienced challenges with the management and performance of internal IT engineers. They wanted to keep the role of help desk and customer service as inside positions, but they felt network, software, and computer management had never been a successful internal role for them.
  • To compound the trouble, the Foundation's poor network and system performance was resulting in significant productivity loss.
  • Further, as the Foundation was rapidly growing in size, demands on the IT environment were increasing as performance and reliability dropped.

Solution and Benefits:

  • The Peninsula Community Foundation turned to their board for guidance and were subsequently introduced to MPA Networks and the Reliable Networks Managed Services Program.
  • The result was a six year long partnership between MPA Networks and the Peninsula Community Foundation.
  • MPA provided IT management, implementation, equipment, software, maintenance, and proactive service.
  • Network reliability improved along with management and staff productivity.
  • MPA worked closely with the Foundation's internal help desk team in a joint effort to support employees in their important chartable work.
  • The partnership continued until the Peninsula Community Foundation merged into a larger organization.
